Accelerated (4+1) programs offer you the chance to earn your undergraduate degree AND master’s degree in 5 years. A 4+1 program will give you the competitive advantage of having a graduate degree with both economy and practicality in mind. NOTE: Only undergraduate students at Northern State University may apply for these accelerated (4+1) programs. 

Admission Requirements

As an undergraduate student at NSU entering your senior year, you can begin an accelerated master’s program if you meet the following requirements:

 

The number one in a circle

 

Have completed ninety (90) undergraduate credit hours.

The number two in a circle

 

Have an undergraduate grade point average of 2.75 or higher.

The number three in a circle

 

Submit two letters of recommendation (not required if GPA is 3.0 or above).

 

 

Note: No more than twelve graduate credits may be taken during your senior undergraduate year and count toward both your undergraduate and graduate degrees.

 

DEGREE PATHWAYS

Only certain degree pathways qualify for the accelerated (4+1) option at Northern State University. Students pursuing the following bachelor’s degrees are eligible to enroll in an accelerated program:

 

Sport Performance and Leadership (MSEd)

 

Banking and Financial Services (MS)

 

Accounting Analytics (MS)

 

Instructional Design in E-Learning (MSEd)

 

Strategic Innovation and Leadership

 

Special Education (MSEd)
