Public History to Complement Your Degree

As a student in the History program, you are able to take courses in Public History as well. Northern's public history program was the first in the state to be offered. Since the program began, 39 students have earned minors and certificates in public history. With a public history certificate, you will work outside of the classroom to share history and historical methods with the public in museums, archives, art galleries, state and local preservation offices, and a wide variety of private consulting firms. This certificate will complement your degree is history.
