VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a direct and secure way to connect to Northern State University's campus network remotely.
VPN allows your computer to access systems on campus that are blocked from off-campus. There are many common systems which do NOT require VPN; below are some examples:
- D2L
- Banner Self-Service
- This includes faculty and advisor information: Seeing class rosters, entering grades, viewing advisees, and more
- Panopto
- Zoom
- SNAP
- This includes access to timecards, and sdezbuy
- Formstack
Common systems which DO require VPN are:
- Network drives (F, H and other file shares)
- ImageNow
- Banner Finance
- Banner Admin
- Cognos
The VPN option provided by NSU is called Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client. All users must read and agree to the SDBOR Acceptable Use Policy before requesting VPN Access. If you would like to request use of VPN, click on the VPN Request Form below.
